This Argentinian artist, born in
Buenos Aires, began her studies at the age of 4. Her
development was in the hands of Maestro Ana T. De Gelber and
Bruno Gelber, under whose guidance she gave her first public
performance at the age of 11 years. She then attended
advance classes in Argentina with Maestros Francisco Votti,
Aldo Antognazzi, Perla Brugola, Rosalyn Tureck, Nikita
Magaloff, Ralph Votapeck, Gerhard Oppitz , Lazar Berman. At the beginning of 1995 she was awarded scholarships from Fundacion Antorchas , Festivales Musicales and Y.P.F. These permitted her to travel to Oxford, England, to study privately under the guidance of the eminent Dr. Rosalyn Tureck becoming her student. From 1997 Lorena Di Florio has studied at the International Piano Foundation, in Cadenabbia, Lake Como, Italy. This unique opportunity allowed her to study during three years in this exclusive School with world-wide renown Maestros such as Karl-Ulrich Schnabel, Fou TS'Ong, Dimitry Bashkirov, Charles Rosen, Leon Fleisher, Andreas Staier, Alicia De Larrocha.
Lorena Di Florio got her Diploma in
Music Cum Laude and Special Mention of Honour in the
Conservatorio di Musica G. Verdi di Como, under the guidance
of Maestro Mario Patuzzi, with whom she has also attended
the Biennal Accademic Studies in Music, graduating with 110
Cum Laude and Special Mention of Honour, mention given for
the first time in the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi di Como
for Accademic studies in music.
Among her many prizes was the First
Piano Prize of the First Biennal Mozart Festival
Competition, held in Buenos Aires, and the First Prize of
the Competition organized by the Culture Secretary of
Argentina.
In 2007 she has got one of the five
scholarships from the Lion’s Club of Como, prize that this
Association gives to the best students of the University of
the province of Como, and received also the Premio Franz
Terranno with the Gold Medal to the best Diploma in Piano of
2006. |
